Writing Great Blog Posts is Every bloggers Dream. 

You’ve probably already know how important blogging is to the success of your marketing efforts.

Without it, your on page SEO becomes less than useless and you’ll have nothing to promote in your social media.

you’ll also have no authority with your leads or customers, and those oh-so-valuable calls-to-action that generate inbound leads won’t get any clicks. 

So why, oh why, does almost every blogger have an endless list of excuses for why they can’t consistently wirte great Blog Posts?

OK I get it .. Not everyone actually likes writing and having to write regularly to your blog kinda stinks.

I mean you have to research the correct keywords to use and the subject matter.

Then you have to string together sentences, paragraphs and all this while trying to keep your on page SEO in order and watch your word count. 

After you read this post, I hope there will be no more excuses as to why you can’t write to your blog at least twice weekly — and be able to spend less time formulating your article

So what’s the answer to writing Great Blog Posts?

Lets take a look at Step #1Understanding Your Audience. 

Before you start writing, you need to have a clear understanding of your target audience.
For Example:

  • What do they want to know about?
  • What’s relevant to them?
  • What problems are they looking to resolve?

Take into Consideration what you know about your audience and their interests while you’re brainstorming a topic for your great blog post.

For instance, if your readers are Millennials who are looking to start their own online business, you probably don’t need to provide them with information about getting started in social media since most of them will already have that in hand. 

You may, however, want to offer them some information about how to adjust their approach in social media from a casual and personal one to a more business like and networking-focused approach. 

It’s this kind of tweak which not only gives your audience they stuff they want to know about but it will separate you from all other bloggers who continually write about generic stuff.

Step #2  Start with a Good topic and a working title.  

Before you even write anything, you need to pick a topic for your Great blog post. This could be pretty general to start with.

For example:

If you’re a Photographer, you could start out thinking about how to write a post about camera lenses.

This will help you come up with a number of different working titles and by approaching that topic differently will help you focus more on your writing.

Let’s say, you decide to narrow your topic down to “Best all round close up lens” or “Common Causes of Over Exposure.” A working title is specific and will help give you direction so that you can then start writing that great blog post. So by doing this you have progressed naturally from selecting your Topic to creating a working title and on to your chosen Final Title.  

Lets take a look at Step #3 – Writing a Captivating Introduction.

Your title is what draws the attention of your reader to your article and it is your Introduction that will determine if they continue reading it further. you see the key to Writing Great Blog Posts is to keep your audience captivated. 

This can be done in a number of ways:

  • Tell a story or a joke.
  • Be empathetic.
  • Grip your reader with an interesting fact or statistic.

Now in order to give your reader a reason to continue you should address the purpose of the post or offer a solution to a problem they may be having.

Step #4 – Organizing Your Content.

Sometimes the amount of information we put into Writing Great Blog Posts can have an overwhelming effect upon the reader.

The trick making this less overwhelming is to organize the structure of our information so as not to intimidate the reader either by by the length or the amount of content.

This organization can take various forms such as using lists, tips ad quotes. It matters not what format you use, what is important however is that it must be organized!

Step #5 – Start Writing.

Now that we have our outline and have determined the order in which we will write out post we can start the writing process. Remember, the length of your post is not important. the real important factor is the content you are offering to your readers. Follow your outline and use it as a guide, make sure you expand on each of your points as required.

Step #6 – Edit & Proofread Your Post.

The editing process is possibly the most important part of blogging, after all your readers will judge you not just on the quality of your content but your spelling and grammar also.
You may also want to consider asking a friend or colleague to proofread your work as they will have a neutral objectiveness when doing so.
