Link Cloaking is important!
A couple of questions that often pops up online by affiliate marketers who are just starting out is
- “Why do I need to cloak my affiliate links?”
- “What is the best way to do so?“
Well, the easiest way to answer this is;
The idea of cloaking your affiliate links is to protect them from those unscrupulous people who would STEAL your commissions from you.
How is this done?
When you use an uncloaked link such as this one – http://someproduct.com/1234/4567 where your affiliate link is for example 4567 then by deleting this number altogether and using just the raw product link and ID or by inserting an affiliate ID of their own, you would not be paid the commissions due to you. Hence you would be losing money.
